Location Ideas

This is another optional location that I may use, I chose it for the similar reasons as my other locations. I like this location because again it looks like it is very out the way and abandoned. It also has an open side which allows lots of light in. I will also find that I may have a problem with getting permission to use this barn. I Prefer this location the most because there are lots of different buildings and shapes so it looks quite interesting. It fits thriller conventions well as this place isn’t very well known to people so it will make the audience question where and why the film is opening in this strange place.

This local farm would be a good place to film as it is quite small and there is not much going on around it. It is also quite close to Spalding. Because this is someone’s farm I am going to have to ask for permission before I begin filming, this could be a problem as the owners may not want me on their land. There is a very good sized barn with an open side which will be good for lighting, there is also lots of old pieces of wood lying around so the area looks very desolate.

I think that my two main and biggest problems that I will come across are not being allowed to use my first two choices for locations. If I am unable to use these two places I will have to keep looking for other places to film. Another problem that might occur is that the lighting might not be very good either. To over come the lighting problem I will have to make sure I film during the lightest hours of the day and then also try to use car head lights to create an extremly bright and silhouette effect.

My Pitch

These screenshots are taken from my opening ideas pitch. I have talked about the locations I want to use, the props, the costumes and also where I got my inspiration from. I used photos to help explain what I'm planning on doing.

This weeks progression Wednesday 20th

This week I have:
  • planned out some possible locations-not yet confimred yet though
  • planned out props that I am going to use and how i will use them
  • considered the lighting I will use
  • begin to plan for my storyboard and shot list
I have still got alot to confirm and i need to take some pictures of my locations but hopefully I can catch up and get all the planning done before filming.

Location Inspiration for my Opening

Wordle: inspiration

For my opening i have taken into consideration lots of different movies, such as 'V for Vendetta' and 'Se7en' I am planning on using somewhere old and abandoned and hopefully this will create tension and threat. By chosing the correct location it will give my opening a realsitc and threatening feel. I am planning on finding and using an old barn, this is becuase it will derelict and eerie. Using an appropriate setting will help my opening more thrilling and if I use the correct location it will be more realistic.

Props for the opening
